Traditional Music Community : Karawitan

There are many kind of music such as modern music and traditional music. So that, there are many of music community. For example, Indonesia has a lot of traditional music in many provinces so there are community that develop and conserve the traditional music. One of traditional music community music Karawitan of ( traditional Javanese music). 

Karawitan is not only a community but we can study and get a lot of knowledge about gamelan ( traditional Javanese music). This community has many members who make time for study, approach and refresh their mind with many music instruments of gamelan. Beside that, we can share about our knowledge and play gamelan together. Because gamelan consists of many tool music sequence. It is like kendang, bonang barung, bonang penerus, gender, gambang, demung, kenong, gong, kempul, saron, etc.

Our community has some member. It has also the leader Bu Sundari and our coach Pak Jihan. Usually, every Monday we meet and practice our skill. 

We have a vision to preserve and develop our culture especially Javanese culture because it is a very valuable legacy. So that, we offer for young generation to practice or learning about Javanese culture, karawitan. 

Then our mission are : 

1. Invite the people especially young generation to adore their culture. 
2. Educate the people in character field so that make identity and the character of nation. 
3. Develop traditional culture and local wisdom as a potential power to make tenaticy and solidarity grow in our country.
